The Art of Procrastination
Human Nature: To Procrastinate
To put off intentionally and habitually; to put off intentionally the doing of something that should be done; to postpone -Merriam Webster's Dictionary. “Waiting is a trap. There will always be reasons to wait. The truth is, there are only two things in life, reasons and results, and reasons simply don't count.” -Dr. Robert Anthony
Aplazar;
Atermoyer;
Procrastinare
As above, it is 'procrastinate'-only in three completely different languages (Spanish, French, and Italian). They all sound completely different, and yet-they mean the same. No matter way you word it, no matter how much you beat around the bush; face it, you're procrastinating.
Of course, such is human nature, as stated before. We all do it multiple times in our life, do we not? Think about it, the dire concept-how many things could go wrong because you chose to delay such in a situation?
Take the bills, for size. Forgetting is one thing. Calling it off is another. You read the painfully increasing number, and the horrid set of the economy these days; uneasy, you think 'Later. I'll do my deed later-tonight.' Say, tonight rolls around, and you promise yourself you'll do it in the morning. This goes on, and then after awhile, the delays you are so used to that it is successfully banished from your mind.
Forget to pay the rent? Perhaps, after this ordeal, you lose your car and electricity also? And let's just say that bad credit does nothing to assist you in this rut that you've found yourself in.
It is, plain and simple, pointless-no matter what your excuses are, it's going to have to be done, the sooner the better. If you linger on such for an inexplicable amount of time, you've got nothing but time wasted on your side.
We all know that procrastinating is no unusual thing among us. It can be out of laziness, of too much self-confidence, out of stress…Stress being the most common thing, that is. Take writers, for instance. They tend to think too much about what the people would think, opposed to what they want to master down on paper. You spend your time editing and editing, wasting time (while you could be finishing up that shiny novel of yours), thinking-what if this isn't what they want? Does this even make sense? The real thing is, if you keep all of that bottled up, the results are hardly what you thought out in your mind.
If you want to impress the boss-sweating bullets is natural. You spend your time fretting rather than actually trying.
As for the ridiculous amount of self-confidence-let's say you have thirty days to do a long report and make yourself believe that it will only take about three days if you hit the books hard-how much trouble would you be in, then? Flunking isn't exactly what you had in mind to begin with.
It's all in the mindset-you have it thought out in your mind that, if you wait a tad bit longer, you hesitate…-that everything will be that much better. The thing is, the situation will only worsen. That's part of what we want to get across as the message.
Help stop procrastination. If you don't, who will? It's getting gradually worse these days, much more than it was before. Procrastination affects everyone.
Help prevent it. Frank has seen this one obstacle, that of procrastination effect so many would be successful individuals. If these folks would just realize this, then perhaps their full potential can be achieved http://www.FrankMorganOnline.com.
